NEPSA’s Collaborative Network
NEPSA operates through a coordinated alliance of national EPS organizations and corporate partners. These members represent the production, recycling, and transformation of Expanded Polystyrene across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and the broader Nordic region.
Together, they form the institutional backbone of NEPSA and support its mission to promote responsible, transparent, and evidence-based communication about EPS.
Member Organizations
NEPSA is composed of the primary EPS associations from the Nordic countries:
- EPS-branchen (Denmark)
National industry body representing EPS manufacturers, recyclers, and value chain stakeholders. Organised within Plastindustrien in Denmark. - EPS Sverige (Sweden)
National EPS group organised within IKEM – Innovations- och kemiindustrierna i Sverige. Represents producers, recyclers, and stakeholders in Sweden. - EPS-foreningen (Norway)
Sectoral association organized under Norsk Industri, representing Norwegian EPS interests. - Corporate Members (Nordic-wide)
EPS converters that are not eligible for national membership may join NEPSA directly. These include recyclers, raw material suppliers, machine producers, and affiliated institutions across the Nordic region.
Membership Eligibility
Membership in NEPSA is open to:
- EPS associations or sector groups
- EPS converters and recyclers
- Raw material suppliers and machinery providers
- Educational institutions and research organizations
- Other entities with a professional interest in EPS and circular economy policy
Members may join through national associations or directly as corporate or associate members, depending on eligibility.
Strategic Partnerships
NEPSA maintains alignment and shared policy priorities with:
- EUMEPS – the European Manufacturers of EPS
NEPSA is a coordinating member within EUMEPS, ensuring alignment on regulatory, technical, and sustainability issues. - GESA – Global EPS Sustainability Alliance
Collaborates with NEPSA on environmental data, communications consistency, and cross-regional recycling standards.
These partnerships ensure that NEPSA’s work reflects both Nordic priorities and European-wide coordination on EPS and sustainability policy.
Institutional Engagement
NEPSA is engaged in European and regional initiatives addressing plastics circularity, chemicals management and marine environments.
NEPSA participates in platforms facilitated by the European Commission and other international and regional stakeholders, contributing Nordic experience and system-level insights to the development of policy and operational frameworks.

NEPSA contributes to broader international processes through collaboration with European and global industry stakeholders, including ongoing work related to the global plastics treaty and regional marine guidelines.
